In the last couple of months, Cohort 8 has been introduced
to a variety of art materials and new play materials in the room. Through our explorations, I have noticed a natural progression to the work they are doing with these materials. A great example has been our work and play with crayons.
When we began trying out crayons, we first tested their
texture with our mouths and what they felt like when banged against the table.
Then we made marks on paper.
And then intentional marks and lines.
Quickly evolving to focused drawing time.
This progression of activity has also been happening in other parts in our classroom as the children gain more skills and work to refine them.
