The Beauty of Routine

Experimenting with adding solids to our daily routine
"Routine provides a framework so that each day need not be a new invention, but it is an opportunity to fine tune one's orientation to the world. It takes on the spirit of beloved ritual that nurtures relationships as much as babies."

Relaxing into nap time

Cohort 7's first couple months in the infant room have been all about routine -- eating, napping, outside time, diaper changes, etc. As we build consistency with each of these things, we are also nurturing our relationships with one another.  The children feel safe knowing what they can expect, and the increased comfort leads to richer play and exploration.  We all have equal parts in guiding this process -- we listen and observe, learning from each other how to develop a routine that feels comforting & secure.   It is a beautiful development that will be the foundation of our time together, and I love thinking about how each cohort's journey is so unique and special.  I am cherishing this time!
